Twin Cities Chapter

The IEEE Twin Cities Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) Chapter brings together engineers, clinicians, researchers, students, and innovators dedicated to applying engineering principles and technologies to improve human health. As part of the IEEE Twin Cities Section, our chapter serves the local biomedical community across Minnesota and surrounding regions—connecting people working in areas such as biomedical instrumentation, medical devices, wearable technologies, digital health, imaging, rehabilitation, and health data science.
Our mission is to foster interdisciplinary collaboration at the intersection of engineering, medicine, and biology. Through technical talks, workshops, panel discussions, seminars, and community engagement, we create opportunities for professionals and students to learn from one another, share emerging research, and explore practical solutions to pressing healthcare challenges.
As part of the global IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, we link the Twin Cities’ strong healthcare, academic, and technology communities to an international network advancing innovation in biomedical engineering. We welcome everyone with an interest in using engineering to enhance health, improve patient care, and shape the future of medicine.
