MRI Safety/Compatibility for Medical Implants Workshop

Advertising an IEEE MTT event on Thursday September 26th, 2019 at the Best Western Plus in Shoreview. RSVP required but free! You can see the flyer here. Registration link below.

The workshop is an all-day event for engineers and managers interested in learning about MRI technology and safety/compatibility with medical implants. Attendees will learn practical approaches used to set requirements, design and test the MRI safety/compatibility of medical implants, including associated regulatory standards and practical experience from the field. This workshop will provide a unique opportunity to learn how to incorporate MRI safety/compatibility technology into medical devices and to network with leaders in the field of medical devices and MRI safety.

MRI scanning could damage wireless medical devices, including MICS, ISM, and BLE medical implants! "MRI Survivability for Wireless Medical Implants: Issues & Solutions" will be presented. In addition, "Determining the Worst-Case RF Heating Scenario with a New Mutual-Coupling Measurement Methodology" will be discussed. The workshop speakers are MRI safety experts from the FDA, Columbia University, Weill Cornell Medicine, the University of Minnesota, and Global Wireless Technology (GWT).

A continental breakfast, snacks and lunch buffet will be provided for free.
